ANYLOAD load cells are used to measure the weight and centre-of-gravity of large offshore drilling platforms for superstructure quality control, regulatory compliance, and to ensure safety during transportation and operation.
How it works:
- The builder of offshore oil platforms must know the net weight and centre of their entire final product.
- During the transportation of completed oil rigs to their intended destination, the transport ship must be properly ballasted to ensure stability and overall safety while moving on the open ocean.
- A low-profile solution that is stable and does not require significant jacking of the superstructure is required.
- Hydraulics at >50 points allows the superstructure to be raised and load cells inserted underneath.
- A summing system for >50 pre-calibrated load cells allowing for weight measurements to be captured for sections and individual units.
Custom Solution
ANYLOAD provided all load cells and the means for managing the data acquisition of >50 load cells individually, by section, and by total to allow the effective capturing of weight and centre-of-gravity information on a completed off-shore oil drilling platform.
